Investment minister, Rwanda’s ambassador discuss strengthening investment cooperation

Minister of Investment Kholoud Saqqaf met on Thursday with the Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to the Kingdom Urujeni Bakuramutsa to discuss strengthening cooperation in the fields of investment.

Saqqaf emphasised the importance of the visit by the Rwandan Minister of Industry and Trade and his accompanying delegation to the Kingdom in February 2024, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The visit included the Jordanian-Rwandan Business Forum and official discussions, following up on the Royal visit to Rwanda in January, in which they highlighted the necessity of expanding bilateral cooperation in various fields, including investment, and the importance of building on this to achieve the common interests of both countries.

During the meeting, Saqqaf highlighted the significant potential for cooperation between the two countries in trade and investment.

She expressed Jordan’s eagerness to enhance and expand partnerships in various fields, stressing the importance of coordinating with the Rwandan side to encourage Rwandan companies to explore available investment opportunities in Jordan through organising promotional visits.

The meeting discussed the most significant available investment opportunities and key investment indicators between the two sides.

The meeting also reviewed the advantages and incentives provided by the Investment Environment Law and introduced the ambassador to the "Invest in Jordan" platform, invest.jo.

Bakuramutsa praised the level of relations between the two countries and affirmed her country's keenness to develop and build upon them in the interest of both sides.

She also emphasised the importance of arranging bilateral meetings between investors from both countries to familiarise them with the key investment opportunities in both Jordan and Rwanda.
