Minister's Speech

We must identify and implement effective steps to attract foreign investments and promote national investments

King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein

Under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, Jordan has embarked upon an ambitious Economic Modernization Vision that will unleash the full economic potential of our Kingdom. This will deliver sustainable growth and improve the quality of life for all citizens. A key principle that will drive economic growth is the continuous attraction of investments. Investments are a strong force in sustainable economic growth. They create high-skilled jobs, expand knowledge and technology transfer, deepen linkages in the domestic supply chains, and further integrates Jordan with global markets. With this in mind, the Government of Jordan undertook a series of legislative, regulatory and policy measures that led to the establishment of the Ministry of Investment (MOIN) as the primary entity responsible for managing and overseeing investment affairs in the Kingdom .

Since its launch, the Ministry has been working in close partnership with the public and private sectors to stimulate foreign and domestic investments. We have developed a new investment promotion strategy that will enable us to develop viable opportunities that will attract impactful investments into transformative sectors. We have also built a winning team that will provide end-to-end support to investors, help navigate regulatory procedures, assist in securing incentives, manage investor relations, and more.

Jordan offers investors a host of advantages, including political stability, modern infrastructure, a welcoming environment, and a skilled workforce. The country has long maintained a pro-business policy and has access to global and regional markets through free trade and bilateral agreements. While Jordan has been at the regional forefront of generating successful investment in the country, we continue to offer tremendous possibilities for investment in key sectors such as IT, renewable energy, tourism and medical tourism and health service and pharmaceutical industry.

I would like to seize this opportunity to invite all businesspeople and investors to learn about our latest reforms and the rich investment opportunities on offer, which are presented in the Jordan investment roadmap.

This is an opportune time to capitalize on the incentives and changes we have made to simplify and expedite the process of doing business in Jordan. Finally, MOIN extends its sincere and great appreciation to those involved in the reform process who have diligently worked hard to make Jordan a distinctive experience for investors.
